LINDSEY & CHRIS – Maryland wedding photographer

Lindsey and Chris were married last Saturday on on absolutely perfectly warm fall day in North Beach, Md. Although they’d had plenty of the unexpected come up in the weeks prior to the wedding, the actual day went off without a hitch.

If your unfamiliar with the Chesapeake Beach/North Beach area, it’s such a cute little coastal town that sits right on the Chesapeake Bay. Since Lindsey and Chris grew up in the area, now live in North Beach, and have family and friends that all live close by, it was only fitting to hold all of the festivities smack in the middle of “home.” Just my kind of wedding:)

The girls got ready at Lindsey’s parents house about 3 miles from the ceremony site, while the guys got ready at Chris’s brothers house, which is close enough that it allowed them to walk to the ceremony. The short and sweet ceremony took place on the boardwalk in North Beach, we shot formals on the beach, did a champagne toast, and then we all made the walk down the boardwalk to a private residence where the reception was held. Talk about laid-back, fun, and relaxed:)

Lindsey and Chris were so incredibly happy to be married and their attitudes and excitement throughout the day were contagious. Just this past June they welcomed their first child, Luke, and the wedding truly was a celebration of them officially becoming a family. Now their family and friends…these two have the COOLEST family and friends, and the reception was such a fun party for everyone. Emotional, too, with the beautiful toasts and Lindsey’s emotional first dance with her dad as her twin sister looked on. Just all around an amazing day.

Lindsey, Chris, and Luke, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of such a special day. It truly is an honor to be able to tell the story of one of the most important days of your life, and I wish you three only the best as your family grows:)

Lindsey’s niece was the perfect little helper:)

THE RE-BRAND: PART I

This is becoming really you guys (I just had to resist the urge to type y’all…oh boy)! The website is finally live so I am now officially working under my new business name and I’m SO. DARN. EXCITED!!

Before you jump on over to the website, I wanted to explain a bit behind why I went to simple. I’m sure there will be a few “Ugh…it’s so boring” ‘s, but with the new website, I wanted several things:

  • Simple, clean, functional design
  • Flash-like interaction built on HTML so that it works just as beautifully on an iPad or mobile device as it does on the computer
  • Easy and clear navigation
  • Succinct galleries that allow potential clients to get a feel for what types of images a typical session/wedding yields…I much prefer displaying my work this way rather than just a select few bests from each session
  • Personable and fluid copy that allow potential clients and visitors to really get a feel for who I am, my style, and how the two combine to create the experience my brand is built upon
  • Easy to update as frequently as I’d like
So, with that being said, I went with Folio Websites to make this all happen. I had built my previous website myself and I knew I did not want to go this route again, because I’m just not good enough at it to make it look like I want in my head. Folio Websites was so easy to work with, set up, and was within my budget. I knew I wanted to splurge on my blog since it truly is the “personality” of my online presence, but I wanted the website to relay the important details visitors want to know when they first look me up, and leave all of the fun stuff to the new blog (which will arrive in November).
Click me to head over to the new digs!

I’m extremely pleased with how it came together and I hope everyone else finds it clean, informational, and easy to navigate as well. This blog (which sits on the old domain) will be around for just a few more blog posts, but I’m keeping it to the bare minimum as I’ve got a giant list of awesome stuff to blog about once the new blog is complete.
This also means a few other important things:

  • My old email @brittanibowling.com will now forward to britt@brittcroft.com, so if we’ve been corresponding lately please update your address book
  • The Brittani Bowling Photography Facebook page will soon only be used to remind fans that all of the good stuff is happening over at the Britt Croft Photography page. Yup, I’ll even be deleting it eventually. Out with the old, in with the new!
  • Best of all – this means I’m giving away a free session on FRIDAY! So if you haven’t “liked” the new Facebook page, now is the time to do so because you must be a fan of the new page to be eligible:)
So, what do you guys think?
